Yellow Ribbon Program

The University of Connecticut (UConn) participates in the Yellow Ribbon Program, which is a provision of the Post-9/11 GI Bill designed to help cover tuition and fee costs that exceed the standard benefits, especially for out-of-state or private school tuition. In compliance with Federal laws, The University of Connecticut, will charge in-state tuition rates to any student receiving benefits under either Chapter 30, 31 (VR & E), or Chapter 33 (Post 9/11 GI Bill Benefits), or Chapter 35 (DEA) of Title 38, United States Code, or the Marine Gunnery Sergeant John David Fry Scholarship, who lives in Connecticut while attending the University of Connecticut, (regardless of his/her formal state of residence). If/When those VA benefits are exhausted, the tuition rate will be reverted to the out-of-state tuition rates for out-of-state students.
